Soul group out of Eurovision race
Six acts have been involved in the BBC One competition |
Emperors of Soul have been eliminated from the BBC TV show deciding the UK's Eurovision Song Contest entrant, as the line-up for the final was decided.
The soul group was eliminated after getting the fewest public votes along with singer Jade Ewen, who was then saved by judge Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Twins Francine and Nicola Gleadall and Mark Evans will also contest the final of Eurovision: Your Country Needs You.
Lloyd Webber and songwriter Diane Warren will write this year's song.
After being eliminated, Emperors of Soul said: "We did what we intended to do throughout the whole of the series and we've got to say we are proud of ourselves."
Lloyd Webber said the group would "have the most fantastic career as a cabaret act and will work for a long time".
Ms Ewen, from east London, north Wales pantomime actor Mark Evans and identical twins Francine and Nicola Gleadall, from Sheffield, will contest the live TV final on 31 January.
The winner will go on to represent the UK in Moscow on 16 May.
Last year's Eurovision Song Contest entrant, X Factor reject Andy Abrahams, came last in the event.
