The two records come in shocking yellow and green |
A pair of coloured records used in an iconic Top of the Pops opening titles sequence is being auctioned for charity in London on Tuesday.
The records belong to Marc Ortmans, who took part in a celebrity edition of Cash in the Attic along with former Swap Shop host Maggie Philbin.
A fluorescent jacket used by the presenter in the Saturday morning show will also go under the hammer.
The title sequence, used from 1981-86, was put together by Mr Ortmans.
The singles were filmed as they were thrown past a camera into dry ice, and few survived intact.
The bright green disc on sale is damaged on one side.
Rare memorabilia
The film was reversed to give the impression that the records were flying out of the clouds.
The titles won a number of awards and are regarded by many fans as the definitive and best-loved Top of the Pops opening sequence, set to Phil Lynott's Yellow Pearl.
The spindle holes where the records are placed on the turntable were covered by a label bearing the music show's logo.
Mr Ortmans says he has "no idea" how much the discs might fetch at the Chiswick Auctions sale, but adds it is a rare piece of memorabilia.
All of Maggie Philbin's lots - including the records and her Swap Shop jacket - will raise funds for her designated charity, the National Osteoporosis Society.
The presenter said of the Top of the Pops discs: "Marc has been the most wonderful friend to let them go."
Philbin also presented Tomorrow's World from 1985-94 and appears on BBC Radio Berkshire.
Her edition of Cash in the Celebrity Attic will be screened later in the year.
