Goody spends 'comfortable' night
Goody was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August last year |
Terminally-ill reality TV star Jade Goody has spent a "far more comfortable night" in a hospice, her publicist Max Clifford has said.
Goody, who has cervical cancer, checked into St Clare Hospice, Harlow, Essex, on Friday evening after suffering hallucinations due to her medication.
The 27-year-old mother-of-two is expected to remain in the hospice over the weekend.
Goody was told earlier this month that she had just weeks to live.
She was admitted to the hospice to allow assessment of her treatment.
Mr Clifford said: "I've spoken to one of her friends and they said she had a far more comfortable night.
"It was her choice to go there because, obviously, with what went wrong on Thursday, she wanted to make sure it didn't happen again."
'Very positive'
Mr Clifford said one of the reasons for her admission was to protect her two sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.
"They are not at the hospice," he said. "They will be going to see her today. They don't know it's a hospice - they think that she is in hospital.
"She certainly wouldn't want to be hallucinating in front of them or anybody. That's all part and parcel of why she has done it."
Goody, who married Jack Tweed, 21, last Sunday, was told earlier this month that her cervical cancer had spread to her liver, groin and bowel.
But Mr Clifford said her condition had been "relatively good", aside from the medication setback.
"She is being very positive," he said. "You can't say she has been fine because she is dying from cancer but - apart from what happened on Thursday - she has been relatively good."
Mr Clifford also said Goody was still determined to go ahead with her plans to have her sons and herself christened next Saturday.
"It will be a local church and then a party afterwards for all the children. She wants to make it as big a party as possible," Mr Clifford.
Goody is also hoping to be well enough to film an interview with Piers Morgan for ITV early next week.
