Ticket reprieve for Cure concert

The Cure will receive the Godlike Genius Award at the NME Awards

Hundreds of fans of The Cure who feared they had been left out of pocket after a ticketing agency went bust have been told they will receive their tickets.

Some 500 people were told earlier this week that agency Trinity Street had ceased trading and all purchases for the concert were invalid.

Now, gig promoters AEG have reached an agreement with Trinity Street, and tickets will be despatched on Monday.

Fans who bought replacement tickets will receive a refund.

The NME Awards gig takes place at London's O2 arena on 26 February and also features Franz Ferdinand, Crystal Castles and White Lies.

Apology

A statement from AEG read: "New tickets will be despatched to you on Monday, by registered post. Please note that they will need to be signed for upon delivery.

"We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience that you may have experienced."

The collapse of Trinity Street has had a knock-on effect for rock fans across the UK.

The company ran websites and merchandise stores for the likes of Elbow, Oasis and Robbie Williams.

Oasis' website is currently offline, while Elbow have told fans they may face a short delay in receiving CDs and DVDs bought through their online store.

A statement on the Trinity Street website says that tickets purchased through the company for upcoming Snow Patrol and Kaiser Chief tours are all secure.
