Britney to play more London gigs

Spears last toured the UK in 2004 with her Onyx Hotel show

Pop singer Britney Spears will play a further six concerts at London's O2 arena next June, in addition to the two previously announced.

The performer's residency will begin on 3 June, with concerts to follow on 4, 6/7, 10/11 and 13/14 June. Tickets are said to be "selling fast".

Spears, who released her latest album The Circus last week, will begin her 2009 tour on 3 March in New Orleans.

It will be her first arena tour in five years, according to her website.
